Jan Nepomucen Głowacki

Jan Nepomucen Głowacki (1802-1847), a Polish painter of the Romantic era. He studied at the Cracow Art Academy, and then in Prague, Munich, Roma and Viena. He returned to Cracow in 1828, where he worked as drawing and painting teacher at the St. Anna Lyceum. Later, he became a professor of the Arts Academy.

He painted landscapes, religious themes and portraits. Considered the father of Polish landscape painting.
